My partner tried this in Starbucks (since he’s a coffee fan) and asked me to recreate this at home so he could directly take it to work.

I love a challenge any day so I thought it would be a lovely idea to recreate this drink.

2 weeks ago I made a christmas chai latte here that was a huge hit, so this was definitely fun!

It’s become a go-to on those mornings when my partner and I are rushing out the door and need something comforting but energizing.

Sweet, creamy, and just indulgent enough, this latte tastes like dessert and coffee had a very good idea together.

I love making this at home because it feels indulgent but still simple, and honestly, it tastes better when you make it slowly and exactly the way you like.

I’m adding variations and substitutes at the bottom of the recipe.

Tips to Make It Even More Delicious

  • For a super silky texture, I use this milk frother, this causes the milk to become nice and foamy like the one you get in a cafe.
  • If your cookie butter is thick, warming it slightly before mixing makes it blend much more smoothly into the milk.
  • A strong brew or espresso keeps the drink from tasting overly sweet, so using a home espresso machine or moka pot really balances the flavors.
  • For best flavor, go with a smooth, spreadable cookie butter spread that melts easily into warm milk.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk of choice

  • 1–2 tablespoons cookie butter spread

  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso

  • Ice cubes

  • Whipped cream, optional

  • Caramel sauce, optional

  • Crushed cookies, optional for topping

Directions

  • Start by warming the milk gently in a small saucepan or microwave just until it’s hot but not boiling, then whisk in the cookie butter until completely smooth and blended, making sure there are no thick bits left behind.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the coffee or espresso over it, letting it cool slightly before slowly adding the warm cookie butter milk so the layers swirl together naturally.
  • Finish by topping with whipped cream if you want that café-style feel, drizzle caramel sauce over the top, and sprinkle crushed cookies for a little crunch before serving right away.

Notes

  • This is one of my favorite beverages to make during the week.

Variations and Substitutes

  • This latte can be made caffeine-free by using rooibos or decaf black tea.
  • Oat milk makes it extra cozy and thick, while almond milk gives a lighter, nutty flavor.
  • Vanilla extract can be added for a maple-vanilla chai twist.
  • For an iced version, brew the chai strong, let it cool, then pour over ice with cold milk and maple syrup.

Conclusion

It’s the perfect drink for reading, enjoying on the balcony, or just taking a quiet moment for yourself. I hope this recipe becomes one of your cozy routines.
